A Timer that Vibrates
I was just reading about this timer yesterday. Apparently instead of ringing, it simply vibrates in your pocket. I thought that this would be perfect for when I’m trying to meditate. I once tried using a kitchen timer but the clicking drove me crazy and I was never able to find one that didn’t click off the seconds. Can sort of tell you where I am with my meditating lol… so sometime in the next few days, I’m going to go looking for this timer. I will let you know if I am successful.
And I want to wish all of you a great New Years Eve. Stay safe and here’s to an amazing 2008!
Music That Comes with Magic
There is just something so relaxing about listening to harp music. No it’s more than that… there is something magical about that style of music. If you haven’t experienced it, listen to Loreena McKennit’s “To Drive the Cold Winter Away”. It might just change how I feel about winter…
Nah. I think it will take more than harp music to do that, but it is an amazing CD! And as my high speed internet just died on me, (long story) I need all the relaxing that I can manage. For 2008, I think that I really have to learn patience. Yes, that just might be my New Year’s Resolution!
So, how about you?? Any resolutions out there?
*What Do You See?
Whenever we look into a mirror, more often than not, we don’t like what we see. We zero in on the latest blemish, the brows that aren’t perfect or the skin that is beginning to sag. And women seem to get harder on themselves as they get older! Today I want you to look into a mirror and find something you like about yourself. This is something I am going to remind you about in a month’s time because complimenting ourselves is simply something we rarely do. I’m sure that there are some of you who criticize your appearance daily and we are going to see what we can do to make that stop. We are going to turn that around for 2008!
*Smoothies Anyone?
It’s hot where I’m vacationing at the moment and I’m craving smoothies. Actually, I had a great one yesterday at the mall. It was a combination of cranberry, banana and strawberry. While I don’t know the recipe for that one, I did find this one buried in my recipes to try file. It should take about 10 seconds to put it together! My kind of recipe!
Ingredients
1 8-ounce cartons plain fat-free yogurt
1 ripe small bananas
1 cup frozen unsweetened berries
Did you notice that there is no added sugar in there at all!
I’m Trying to Meditate… Again
I’m on vacation and my moods should be all about blissful afternoons and all things relaxing, but I have my moments… and they aren’t blissful so I’m going to give meditating another try. Maybe I have been trying too hard. I’m going to sit outside b y the pool this afternoon and just close my eyes. Maybe some quiet time is the first step to meditating. Did I ever mention that I have NO patience what-so-ever?? I will let you know how well I do later today. But no promises… sitting still is not one of my better skills.
What I’m Reading – Inspiration by Wayne W. Dyer
I’m on holiday at the moment and find that I have a lot more time to sit out in the sunshine and simply read. For some reason, I just don’t do that when I’m at home. So, I’m on page 39 at the moment and I’m enjoying the book enough to check out some more of his titles before I go home. If anyone has a suggestion as to which book I should invest in next… I’m all ears!!
Gund Monkey “Mambo”
I don’t know if it’s just me hitting my… okay I really don’t have to tell you just how old I am, but I am suddenly developing a thing for stuffed animals. Not sure where it is coming from, but it is definitely there!! And this little guy is awfully cute. Maybe it has something to do with the orangutang program that we have been watching on one of the nature programs. I fell in love with the little guy instantly.
