What Went Well last Year?
Actually you are going to make two lists. What did you try that you are actually pleased with. Now what did you try that you absolutely hated? Might as well get rid of the things that didn’t work in your life and work on adding more of what did. Makes sense to me lol… so, here’s a peek at some of the things on my “good” list.
-reading
-doing nothing (this is really hard for me)
-meditating
-playing
-relaxing
I’m going to try to spend a little time each day on all of those items. The rest of the time can be devoted to working… which just so happens to take up about 90% of my day at the moment.
We are Changing Our Ways!
Our goal this year is to have a Happy New Year… all year long. Too often we wait until a few weeks in the summer for a vacation and then that’s all we have to show for it all year long. Not so for 2008. We are going to make a resolution to be happy EVERY day of this year. Here’s to a good one. So far, I have spent time on the lanai reading, listening to the rain and spending time with my family. I think that I’m off to a very good start!
Why I Watch Birds…
Today I spent a little time outside simply watching the birds soar in the sky. We are in Florida right now and it is sooo nice to sit out on the lanai and simply enjoy the gorgeous weather. If you can’t get into meditating, this has to be a close second!
And I can’t believe that I’m saying this, but I can’t wait to get home and top up our bird feeder. With all of the snow we have had, I’m sure that it must be getting low. While I might not be able to sit outside and watch the birds, but sitting by the window with a cup of tea is almost as good. I’m still waiting to spot my first cardinal!
*As You Age
When you were in your late teens, chances are, you could consume 2100 calories a day and not gain an ounce. By the time you hit your 50’s, that number has dropped to 1800 calories a day. Make it easy on yourself by starting early. Learning portion control is just one way and using smaller dishes makes it even easier. Using a smaller dinner plate can work wonders!! Trust me
