Giving it Up For 2008
If you had to cross one food item off your list for 2008, which would it be. I’m talking high calories here. The first thing that came to mind for me was brussel sprouts, but I did say high calorie though didn’t I. I guess potato chips could be something I REALLY don’t need. But darn, they sure do taste good! I have Pickled Onion flavored corn and wheat snacks that I brought home from England in October in front of me… but I just read the calorie count and they are coming in at 67 calories a bag. I guess I can keep that variety. Yeah….
Now if I could only find chocolate cake with tons of frosting that would come in that low… I would be very contented right now lol…
Don’t Do That To Me
DO NOT DEPRIVE ME OF MY AGE. I HAVE EARNED IT.
MARY SARONT
Isn’t that a great way to look at aging!! I just might tell you how old I am in the near future. Have to think about this quote a bit longer. When you think about it, who is the first person you turn to when you need advice?? Your Mom!
Do I Need Help??
My daughter is always on my case about how disorganized I am while I am working. Unfortunately, I like all of my research material spread out where I can find it. Am I the only one who likes to work like this? If someone was to walk into your office… what would they see on your desk?? I can honestly say that mine is a wee bit messy at the moment, but the minute I finish this entry, I AM going to tidy it up.So, at the moment, in front of me is a ruler, a pen, a pencil, a hair clip, an emery board, a pedometer, a cup holding pens (which isn’t being used now that I think about it. A CD that isn’t in it’s container, my daughter’s candle holder which she broke… so why is it on my desk?? And lastly… my digital camera. Okay, so maybe I do need to learn some organization skills, but I honestly have used nearly every single one of those items today!! And I have two desks in my office. We won’t start on what’s on the other one. Let’s just say that I’m learning to paint in water colors for relaxation on the other desk. We shall just leave it at that. So, now it’s your turn. What is sitting on your desk??
And oh yes, if I went upstairs and looked at my daughter’s desk, it would have her computer and that’s it. Honest!
Inspiration Perpetual Flip Calendar by Wayne Dyer

I picked up this calendar over Christmas and I love the way you can flip the page and have something new to think about during the day. I have it sitting right on my dresser. And the nice thing about the calendar is the fact that it will never go out of date. When you finish 2008, you simply flip it over and start again!! And the funny thing is… each day tells me something I usually need to hear.
I picked mine up at Borders, but I just checked and Amazon has it as well.
Don’t Beat Yourself Up – No one is perfect… Really!
Do you knock yourself out over little mistakes? I’m really bad at this. I’m not sure where I picked up this trait, but I honestly expect myself to be perfect (hate making mistakes) and you can just imagine how I’m setting myself up to fail. The thing we need to do is to learn from the mistakes we make. If we never made mistakes, we simply wouldn’t grow as a person. And just in case you haven’t realized it as of yet… we ALL make mistakes. The difference is that most people simply let them go and move on. That… I’m working on!
Quote to Start Your Morning
Do you want me to tell you something really subversive? Love is everything it’s cracked up to be. That’s why people are so cynical about it. It really is worth fighting for, being brave for, risking everything for. And the trouble is, if you don’t risk everything, you risk even more.
Erica Jong
Maybe this quote should be framed and hung in every home. Sometimes we do need reminding.
Peculiar People
Apparently, it’s peculiar people day. I have no idea how you celebrate such a day, but if you give it some thought, I’m sure that something will come to you. My sister had a real knack for coming up with ideas. She originated the Mad Cup… which made her husband very nervous if he found it placed at his spot at the table. She also celebrated her son’s birthday (he was born in January) in June. Since it was six months past his birthday, she did everything in halves. The kids were served half a hot dog (to start) half a glass of soda, and half a birthday cake. There were other things that she came up with, but those were the first to come to mind.
Anyway, back to the peculiar people… you just might be one yourself. What would other people say were your oddest traits??
