Do You Have a Spiral Staircase??

Don’t choose a home with a spiral staircase in the centre of the house. We did just that and have had nothing but bad luck with the house. It’s a Feng Shui thing from what I’ve been reading. Didn’t quite understand it but it said something to the effect of boring through the heart of the home.

And it doesn’t help when you are trying to sell your house either!

  1. I don’t know too much about a spiral stair case and its relationship to positive chi, but I am a feng shui practitioner (as much as possible). Since there are others who abide in my household, I don’t have the final say about whether or not some things are “auspicious,” but I try to get my two cents’ worth in.

For instance, I’ve reaad that anything dead is out (like bear skin rugs, stuffed animals, and so forth). However, my dear husband enjoys hunting and insists that George, a stuffed deer…or rather a deer head) hangs on our family room wall. Ugh! I can hardly bear to look at his big brown glassy eyes. They seem to follow me around the room and haunt me. Anyway, rather than fight, I just put a pretty cream colored ceramic statue of Buddha on an antique piece of nearby furniture. At first he (husband) would say, “I don’t really care that much for that statue,” and I’d reply that I had to have it to counter balance the negative energy (sha) of the dead deer head.

Didn’t mean to go overboard. It’s just sort of exciting to come across a blog about feng shui.

  2. Well I can understand your feeling about the stuffed deer head. I think that I would feel the same way. I’m kind of new at this. Apparently there is tons to learn on the subject. Drop by anytime with a few words of wisdom on the topic.

    :)
