Tuck A Little Fragrance in Your Drawers

Take your favorite perfume and spray a couple of cotton balls and then place in your undies drawer. Every time you open the drawer, you will be greeted by a gorgeous scent and we all know how perfume always makes you feel better! Especially on a dull day! That’s what I did yesterday and it actually did make up for a cold dull day. Hey, it’s June!! Isn’t this supposed to be a nice hot summer??

Do You Have a Spiral Staircase??

Don’t choose a home with a spiral staircase in the centre of the house. We did just that and have had nothing but bad luck with the house. It’s a Feng Shui thing from what I’ve been reading. Didn’t quite understand it but it said something to the effect of boring through the heart of the home.

 

And it doesn’t help when you are trying to sell your house either!

Tonight’s How-To

I have bit of paper that I have written down little things that I have heard or picked up from some sourse and I thought that I would simply pass it along. Who knows… it just might come in handy some day. We have enough things on any given day to keep ourselves busy… we don’t need any more. So, if you have a vase that could use a lit TLC, here’s what you can do. Take a handful of rice and toss it into the vase. Add some warm soapy water and then give it a few good shakes. Discard the water/rice and the vase should be nice and shiny.

You really don’t need to go out and buy something special!

Hanging Potpourri on the Wall

Here ’s a project for those of us who would make something interesting, but have little or no talent All you have to do is make or buy two crocheted doilies choosing a size that can be framed inside a shadow box. Lace them together with a narrow red ribbon, leaving just enough space to add your favourite potpourri. Continue lacing and tie off in a bow.

 

Cut to size and then glue a piece of velvet to the back of a shadow box. Allow to dry and then glue the potpourri filled doily to the center of the box.

Here’s a quiet little way to say I love you to someone special in your life. I have just put away the Christmas decorations and I’m ready to move on to Valentine’s Day. I love to decorate every chance I get and this is just soooo cute.

Removing Spray On Snow

Just in case you are in need of removing that “spray on” snow that might be decorating your windows at the moment, I friend passed this along a few years ago and I quickly scribbled it down just in case I needed it. Not this year, but one of these days I’m going to go nuts with a can and add “spray on” snowflakes on every window. Anyway, apparently you mix one part ammonia to three parts water and remove with one of those plastic scrubbers.  That apparently ought to do it!! Have fun lol…

My Grandmother Hated the Color Peach

You have to wonder where these superstitions come from, but I find them all fascinating. This one is about the color orange… or peach to be exact. My grandmother was told by her mother?? that a bedroom should never be painted this color. The reason… you  aren’t going to believe this but, the reason is that it lead to infidelity!

Now that you know, would you paint your bedroom that color??

Decorating Your Bedroom

If you have room in your bedroom for one chair, see if there is room for one more. For some reason, it just makes the room look cozier. Okay, I can’t stop myself here. Squeeze in a little table and a lamp between the chairs. Now it’s even cozier.

I don’t know about you, but I can’t sit in bed and read. It just kills my back, but a nice comfy chair and a place to put a cup of tea sounds like the perfect solution!
