*For The Sheer Fun of It
One of the biggest mistakes you can make is to go into an exercise program… just to lose weight. If that weight doesn’t come off as fast as you would like, chances are, you will lose interest and quit. Instead, look at exercise as something to do for the sheer enjoyment of it. Long walks, working out to music and yoga are things I that enjoy. I don’t even think of it as exercise any more. I do it because I enjoy it… plain and simple. Now go out and find something that gets you moving and is fun.
And don’t stop at just one program. There are probably dozens that will appeal to you… if you give them a try.
Getting My Head Around This Concept
I am constantly reading that our life is in our own hands and that you can consciously begin to change ANYTHING by simply changing your thoughts. So, I suppose that means that if life kind of sucks right now, we pretty much made it happen by thinking those kinds of thoughts. I would say… I don’t believe that for a second, BUT, I’m reading those words EVERYWHERE! Going to have to give this some more thought. Must be something to it, just can’t get my head around it yet.
Did You Laugh Today??
Did you laugh today and if you didn’t, can you tell me why not. Really, I would love for you to come up with a very good reason. *The minute we leave our childhood… we stop! Okay, we might not stop, but we sure slow down!
Being a Friend :)
Don’t walk in front of me, I may not follow.
Don’t walk behind me, I may not lead.
Just walk beside me and be my friend.– Albert Camus
Taking Jewelry on Vacation
I never take my expensive jewelry with me when I go on vacation… same goes for my watch. That’s just asking for it to be left on a hotel nightstand… been there and done that. So, now I simply take jewellery that I won’t mind losing… and it’s the bare minimum at that. For me that means a watch and one pair of earrings and that means, the cheapest I own. To date, it’s been a good rule of thumb. I can’t believe some of the women I have seen while on vacation. It looks as if they are wearing their jewelry box!
What Is Perfectionism??
Perfectionism is slow death… Hugh Prather
I think that pretty much sums it up. So here’s to a normal day when things don’t have to be perfect.
Just In Case… The Breakfast Basket
You might want to keep this list handy just in case you need a quick little gift for that Secret Sister sometime in the coming year. Starting the next time you go out… pick up any of the items on the list below. And I’m pretty sure that she will love it!
*pancake mix
*loaf of fresh bread (use your breadmaker)
*jar of honey
*jar of jam
*pair of mugs
*set of tea towels
Putting Yourself Last??
I can remember a time when I was FIRST and I didn’t even have to think about it. I was the most important person in my universe and no one was going to push me out of MY spot. Funny how all of that changes when you have a family. But, we don’t have to be last on the list either. No matter how important your family is… and they will be right up there, there is no reason that suddenly everyone comes before you.
Today, you just might want to do something just for yourself! Doesn’t have to be a biggy… no I take that back. It should be a biggy. You are just as important as anyone else on your list. You just forgot!
What makes You Happy?
Have you ever spent any time actually considering the things in life that you really enjoy? By the end of the day, I hope to have lots of suggestions from you. We will all benefit from everyone elses list. Actually, I should have asked yesterday. It was one of those days when I was in the deepest funk and today… the cause doesn’t even matter. Sound familar??
Today, I think that I will paint my nails. I just finished with an emery board, I think a nice soft color should be perfect.
